Why Freeze-Dried?
The process of removing the water in fruits by freezing instead of heating is brilliant. Indeed, freeze-dried food contains nearly all the nutrients present in the original products as opposed to heat-dried products, which are deprived of most of them because of the high temperatures used.
Freeze-drying consists of freezing the fresh produce as soon as possible after harvest.
This ensures that the fruits retain maximum nutritional value: the fresh fruits that you buy at your local market actually lose nutritional value for each day that they sit on the shelves or on your kitchen table. By freezing the produce as soon as possible, we are able to ensure both maximum quality and best taste.
After freezing, a vacuum-like process is applied, which removes the frozen water in the fruit.
That leaves you with delicious fruits full of nutrients that weigh only a small portion of the original weight and that do not go bad even after a long time. You will also find that their taste is so much more flavorful than regular dried fruits and very close to the fresh fruit they once were.
